An impressive golf course in my city that is worthy of a site for a PGA tournament. The setting is fantastic with a great view of Lake Merced all around. The practice fields are always filled with golfers perfecting their swing on any given weekend even one that steady rain has just fallen. There is lots of free parking too. The Cypress Grill overlooking the 18th tee is a good food option following a round of golf.
The course is beautiful, in great condition, and the pace of play with an early tee time was fantastic and just under 4 hours.
I was disappointed in the services.
First the computer systems were down so I was required to enter my entire credit card information on a piece of paper and it took some time to get that sorted because their wasn’t a clear procedure for how to handle it. I was the only customer checking in.
I had a 7:40 tee time and was at the range to warm up at 7. Small problem, no baskets for the range ball machine. After going back to the clubhouse it was remedied but left about 20 minutes before teeing off. I know some people can go straight to the tee but I do have a routine I prefer to follow when playing a course at this level.
Next we found out from the starter that it was cart path only. I ended up turning in the cart and walking the back 9 which was a much more pleasant and efficient experience. This course is extremely flat, so I would highly recommend walking or getting a pull cart.
The reason for the rating has to do with how disorganized the course staff felt which left a bad taste in my mouth for the $275 price tag.
This wouldn’t stop me from coming back, but It didn’t live up to my expectations from my experience at other TPC courses.
Incredible course! My dad and I played here recently and were super impressed. I love that the course is public. Everything is cared for so well and their practice areas seemed nice too! They range as top tracer technology. Parking is ample too. They also had a 9 hole that we didnt play but was priced very fair. You can see why this course hosted a major for sure! In hindsight, we should have walked the course this day but ended up using a cart. I was impressed with how nice the carts were, but the walk would have been beautiful!!!
We went for the driving range. The setting alone is reason enough to spend time at Harding Park. Nice parking lot.
Fantastic golf course. The fairways are narrow and feel soft; divots are like hitting through butter. Rough is challenging but fair. Greens are great. You'll know why professionals play here. Pace of play is fast.
Somewhat disappointed in this golf course. First of all, staff was great very accommodating stored our luggage and got us out onto the course, Thank you. I rated it two stars because this course is not worth the money for an out-of-town guest. You are paying over $200 including the cart and the carts were not able to go onto the fairway which made it a very long day. The rough was very penalizing where we lost many balls although we knew where the ball went in and I’m talking right off the first cut of the fairway. It made for a very long day when carts can’t go out onto the fairway after paying $24 dollars for each person to take a cart, not ok. Someone needs to talk to the superintendent or workers about the holes because they’re not crisp. Lots of fluff around the holes actually making the hole look smaller. Sloppy for $200 a round of golf and a TPC course. Play the Presidio for half the price at least and by the way, this was a weds so who knows what they charge on the weekends. I’ve played many of the top 100 courses in the country and I was disappointed. If you can get a resident card or get some type of discount, it could be worth it but definitely not for the price they’re charging.
Harding Park is one of our last great SF public resources, well a golf course, for San Francisco residents and it has a great restaurant to boot!! it's generally amazing but it also has free parking and an abundance of it so that pretty much seals it. I don't know of any other public golf courses in San Francisco, but since I am not a golfer, I would not. There is also what appears to be A well-stocked Pro Shop in the clubhouse. I hope it is the only one we have since golf courses take up tons of space and tons of water, but the two-story, spacious restaurant is top-notch and the wait staff is always so kind. It is fantastic that they cycle in new menu items that are comprable to the ones they are cycling out, So you won't get bored with the menu. There is always a wonderful Sunday brunch, as well. it is without a doubt one of the Hidden gems of San Francisco
Worst experience for Honeymoon. My wife and i only carry one bag for visiting, she only using driver 3woods 7iron and putter. The club house allows us to play with one bag( club house understands that we are in traveling) the starter not allow us to play with one bag. He said the policy is one player for one bag. We saw the other team player sharing bag. No respect for visitor the starter team said club house guy is new so he is not going to listen what they say. Very disappointing for TPC manage the employees
